Scope

We are looking to expand our R&D team in Gilze, the Netherlands. The team is composed of approximately 35 employees with all kinds of competencies, hardware-, software- and FPGA developers, and system test. The R&D team in Gilze is responsible for developing and maintaining the Synapse and Neuron product lines.

The Neuron platform is our new state-of-the-art high-speed processing board with 100Gb interfaces, 2 FPGAs, and a dual-core ARM running Linux. It is used as the basis for all our Neuron audio and video processing products, like the convert, protect, compress, and bridge, but also for audio shuffler and the new MultiViewer.The development processes are based on SAFe, working in agile teams and using the latest technologies, and our build and test systems are fully automated.

Job Description

  • Contribute to the development of our products, such as Neuron and our new multiviewer.
  • Work on the requirements, architecture, design, and development of embedded, multi-threading, real-time, high-throughput software.
  • Participate in Agile / SAFE multidisciplinary project teams together with hardware and FPGA developers and system test engineers.
  • Coach and help the junior developers to grow.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and participate in the continuous improvements of the development process and tools.

Profile

  • Bachelor or University degree in Technical Computer Science or equal
  • Some (embedded) software development experience

Technical skills:

  • Experience with the Linux OS, drivers, and it’s relevant development toolchain
  • Experience with designing and architecture of embedded systems
  • Experience with programming languages such as C / C++
  • Experience with a scripting language such as: Python, shell scripting, Makefiles

The following experiences are not mandatory, and will be considered as an asset:

  •  Experience with Agile development methods (e.g. Scrum and SAFE) and tools (E.g. Jira, CI, Gitlab)
  • Knowledge of video and audio technologies is an advantage
  • Affinity with electronics and hardware is an advantage

  • Creative, out-of-the-box, pragmatic and proactive
  • Communicative, written and verbal in English and preferably Dutch
  • A flexible team player who can also work independently
  • Quickly understands a technical domain and its complexity
