Product Owner

We are looking for a passionate Product Owner to lead the continuous development of our market-leading broadcast products. You understand and share the product vision with the development team and understand how products fit in the ecosystem.As a Product Owner, you are accountable for maximizing the product's value and the development team's work.Through the collection and the prioritization of needs, you're accountable for the definition and formalization of the Product Backlog as well as for grooming it. You are the single point of contact regarding this Product Backlog for all persons external to the development team.You collaborate with a Product Manager and other stakeholders according to the SCRUM framework.    

You will be working in the R&D team in Gilze, the Netherlands. The team consists of approximately 35 employees with all kinds of competencies, hardware-, software- and FPGA developers, as well as system test, and you will be part of it. The R&D team in Gilze is responsible for developing and maintaining the Synapse and Neuron product lines. The Neuron platform is our new state-of-the-art high-speed processing board with 100Gb interfaces, 2 FPGAs, and a dual-core ARM running Linux. It is used as a basis for all our Neuron audio and video processing products, like the convert, protect, compress, and bridge, but also for audio shuffler and the new MultiViewer.

Job Description

The Product Owner is the key link between the Business and the Development teams.

In that role, your tasks are:

• Work closely with the Product Manager/CPO to define the Product Roadmap;
• Ensure the development team understands the Product Vision and Product roadmap;
• Federate the development team around this Product Vision;
• Translate the business requirements into Epics and User Stories;
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria and consistently prioritize these stories in a DEEP backlog;
• Steer and motivate the development team to deliver committed developments;
• Approve delivered user stories during the team demo and collect feedback;
• Follow up and track product progress;
• Manage the stakeholders and make tough decisions;
• Document summaries of newly implemented features and release notes.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronics, or Mechanical Design (or equivalent) and some experience in one of these fields;
• Know how to lead the development of innovative products and solutions applied to the video broadcasting domain;
• Tech savvy and entrepreneurial mindset;
• Know how to talk tech and how to talk business;
• Very good communication and leadership skills;
• Believe in an "Agile Scrum" approach to product development which is focused on a constant cycle of feedback, measurements, and optimization;
• Know what it means to solve complex, functional, and analytical problems while keeping the customer top of mind and getting things done;
• Able to give and receive feedback;
• Able to make critical decisions quickly;
• Autonomous;
• Good written and verbal communication skills;
• Open for changes and continuous learning;
• Result-oriented and strong team player;
• Experience in the video and/or broadcast/media industry is a plus;

Languages:

• Working knowledge in English;
• Dutch language is a plus.
