Scope

We are looking for a passionate Release Train Engineer to help us manage our Agile Release Trains and Programs within EVS. As a Release Train Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART). You will ensure the ART delivers value by following up on the deliveries of ART teams and their dependencies. You will act as a Servant Leader for the Agile Release Train, by facilitating and coordinating the different ART events and processes.
You will coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Agile practices and mindsets. Finally, you will communicate with stakeholders, track, solve and escalate impediments, help manage risks, and drive relentless improvements.

Job Description

  • Delivery Management
    • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART)
    • Ensure the ART deliver value
    • Ensure the planning (PI/Release) is followed to allow taking the right decisions
    • Manage risks and dependencies
    • Escalate and track impediments
    • Identify critical bottlenecks (resources, processes, …) and raise them to the appropriate people
    • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Program Governance Team (PGT) Servant-Leadership
    • Coach PGT members (Software Architect, Chief Product Owner, and Program Quality Coordinator) on correctly following the processes
    • Ensure PGT works as a Team
    • Ensure PGT members understand their roles and responsibilities
    • Facilitate PGT meetings
    • Ensure continuous improvements inside the PGT
    • Ensure the PGT take decisions, through collective intelligence
    • Ensure active collaboration between PGT’s
  • Coaching
    • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters of the ART in Agile practices and mindsets while being a Servant Leader.
    • Encourage collaboration between Delivery Teams and Program Governance Team and Management.
    • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
  • Facilitation
    • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by implementing an efficient preparation process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, Roadmaps, and Backlogs
    • Facilitate the Scaling events
    • Ensure Product Features and Team Features are created and estimated, to allow correct scope decision-making, based on facts
    • Facilitate decision making on transversal topics through the whole ART
  • Communication
    • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments
    • Ease the communications through the whole ART
    • Drive transformation with the help of Change Management plans
    • Monitor progress on ART by providing KPI/Metrics and ensure they are used
