Configuring the Clip Creation
Clip Creation
The X-One Client allows you to mark specific events. Each time you mark an event (by setting a mark at a particular timepoint), a clip is created on your X-One server with automatically calculated clip boundaries. The clip is stored in your Library so that you can recall and play it out during your production.

Clip In and Out Points
A clip is a protected section of A/V material on the record train of an X-One server. It can not be overwritten by the loop recording.
Each clip that is created has an In and an Out point. X-One will automatically calculate these boundaries starting from the timecode of the mark point.
• | The IN field allows you to specify the amount of A/V material X-One should include BEFORE the mark point. By default, this is 5 seconds. |
• | The OUT field allows you to specify the amount of A/V material X-One should include AFTER the mark point. By default this is 5 seconds. |
NOTE You cannot set both the In and Out points to 0. |
Guardbands
In addition, a clip can have guardbands. Guardbands are the amount of A/V material before and after the clip that should be protected and remain available as well. X-One will automatically calculate these guardbands starting from the clip's calculated In and Out points.
• | The IN Guardband field allows you to specify the amount of A/V material X-One should include BEFORE the clip's In point. By default, this is 5 seconds. |
• | The OUT Guardband field allows you to specify the amount of A/V material X-One should include AFTER the clip's Out point. By default, this is 5 seconds. |
