Pierre De Muelenaere - CEO ad interim

Following the departure of the Managing Director & CEO Muriel De Lathouwer (representing MucH sprl) on July 10, 2018, Pierre De Muelenaere (representing Pygargue sprl) has been appointed CEO ad interim of EVS until the appointment of a CEO.

Pierre De Muelenaere is Independent Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVS since January 2018.

Until 31 August 2015, Pierre De Muelenaere was President and CEO of I.R.I.S. (Image Recognition Integrated Systems), a company he co-founded in 1987 (with Jean-Didier Legat) to commercialize the results of his PhD.
Mr. De Muelenaere has more than 30 years of experience in Imaging and Artificial Intelligence. He has accumulated solid experience in technology company management, R&D management and setting up international partnerships with US and Asian companies. He is also a member of the Board of directors of Proximus, Pairi Daiza and Guberna and served for seven years as a director on the Board of BSB, an insurance and banking software company. Mr. De Muelenaere holds a Civil Engineering degree in Microelectronics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and received his PhD in Applied Sciences in 1987.

Yvan Absil - SVP, Chief Financial Officer

Yvan is appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer since January 2016. He started his career at Hewlett-Packard Company in 1995 and occupied various operational and finance functions in the group, including Finance Director for HP Belux. In 2010, he joined 21Net, a UK start-up company providing on-board train internet connectivity, as a CFO. Before joining EVS, he was Finance Director EMEAI, LATAM & Asia Pacific for Volcano Corporation, now part of Philips Healthcare, a leading company active in intravascular imaging for coronary and peripheral applications, and physiology. He holds a Master of Science in Business Management and Engineering (University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium).

Axel Blanckaert - SVP, CTO

Axel Blanckaert is Senior Vice President and CTO of EVS. He is in charge of all the EVS product development (R&D), spread over 5 development centers. He oversees the Hardware & Software development teams, the quality control, and the innovation and product management teams.

He joined EVS in April 2016. Before this, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Elips, an European company delivering software and consulting services to life and pension insurance companies. Before Elips, he spent 15 years at Alcatel in different positions, including software developer and architect in Australia, and most recently Site Manager, Platform and Product Director at Alcatel-Lucent in Namur (200+ people). He is civil engineer (Communication – Electronic – Automation) from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve.

Benoît Quirynen - SVP, Market & Product

Benoît Quirynen joined EVS in August 2016, as Senior Vice President Market & Product.

Benoit served as free-lance consultant (telecom, digital services, media & e-commerce) for the last 6 years. In parallel, he co-founded dINK.eu, a small company developping apps to support sales people. Before this, he spent 19 years at Alcatel in different positions, including SW developer & architect, Project & product manager, Product launch manager, Product line director, New media & advertising Strategy Manager and Targeted Advertising Venture Director.

Benoit is civil engineer (Telecom Engineer) from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve (Belgium).

2. OTHER MEMBERS OF THE SENIOR MANAGEMENT

Nicolas Bourdon - SVP, MARKETING

Nicolas Bourdon earned a Business Sciences degree from HEC Liege, Belgium. Nicolas spent six years as a Communications and Marketing Manager for the aviation company Sabena Technics in Brussels. He joined EVS as Director of Marketing and Communications in October 2005.

Marc Caeymaex

Marc Caeymaex - SVP EMEA

Marc is SVP EMEA since February 2016. He joined EVS in 2000 as Sales manager for Spain & Portugal. In 2003 he also took the responsibility of the African market, and in 2007 he moved to Madrid to Open the EVS Iberica branch where he was acting as General Manager. In 2012 he became VP Sales, Southern Europe and Africa. Marc holds a Business Management Degree from ULG (University of Liege) and a Master of International Management from University of Santander (Spain).

Xavier De Vynck

Xavier De Vynck - SVP, BIG EVENTS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Xavier De Vynck is SVP Big Events & Business development. He joined EVS in 2011 as VP Business development. Before joining EVS, he spent more than 20 years in the broadcast industry, starting his career in 1991 as Managing Director of Eurosound NV. In 1996, he became Regional Sales Manager, EMEA, for AAVS SA (a French systems integrator). He joined NETIA in 1998 where he held various functions until 2007 (lastly Vice-President of Business Development). He spent a year at Genesis Networks as VP of EMEA, before joining Avid in 2008 as Strategic Business Development Manager until 2011. Xavier De Vynck studied Financial Management in Belgium.

Denis Fisette - SVP Operations & Projects

Denis Fisette is Senior Vice President Operations & Projects since January 2018. He joins from Aricent, a worldwide leader in Integration and Services, where he was worldwide leader for “network application” products and associated businesses. Denis started his career as data processor and manager of electronic messaging systems. At Alcatel between 1998 and 2010, he held R&D responsibilities in the intelligent networks area and became accountable for an organization of over 500 engineers spread over 12 development centers, addressing more than 100 telecom operators across the globe. He holds a Master in Mathematics and a Master in Computer Science from the University of Namur (Belgium).

 

Quentin Grutman - SVP NALA

Quentin is SVP NALA, in charge of all operations in the NALA region, since 2016. He joined EVS in 2010 as SVP EMEA. Quentin has an extensive experience in sales within large software companies, especially at Oracle where he held various international sales management positions over eight years within the company. Prior to joining EVS, Quentin was the European Sales Director at Heartbeat Experts/Software since 2007. Quentin holds a degree in General and International Management from HEC-ULg in Liège and a Masters degree in General Management (CEPAC) from Solvay Business School in Brussels.

Olivier Heurteaux - SVP, APAC

Olivier graduated with a Masters degree in engineering in 2000, from the SUPAERO, a top French engineering school in Toulouse. He started at EVS in 2002 as presales in Hong-Kong, for the Asia-Pacific region. Always based in Hong-Kong, he became Sales and Operations Manager for the APAC region in 2006. He takes over the full responsibility of the APAC region in February 2013.

Laurent Petit - SVP Product

Laurent Petit joined EVS in 2010 as Product Manager the XT3. Since 2014, he is in charge of Product Management for the portfolio of EVS addressing Live production. Laurent started his career in 1996 as a research engineer in the Microelectronics Laboratory of the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL). In 2001, he moved to Barco where he held various functions from development engineer to product manager, specializing in the field of video compression. Laurent is civil engineer (orientation electronics and telecom) from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve.

Johan Vounckx - SVP, INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY

Johan Vounckx is SVP, Innovation & Technology since October 2014. Before joining EVS, he spent 8 years at Telenet, Belgian telecom company, as Manager Innovation and Business Development and Manager of the Technology Office. Before Telenet, he was R&D Engineer for Icos and Director Design Technology for IMEC. He holds a PhD in electronics and a M.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Leuven (KUL), and a MBA from the University of Antwerp.
