19.2018 PRONEWS XT/XS 16.0
Dear EVS Operator,
Welcome to the new issue of Operators’ ProNews – with information on all the latest products and updates from EVS. This month, alongside the usual range of updates to functions and usability, we introduce:
PRODUCTION SERVERS & INFRASTRUCTURE
MULTICAM 16The latest update to Multicam focuses mainly on support for the new XT-VIA server - introduced during the NAB Show, in Las Vegas, in April of this year.
As the broadcast industry moves from traditional SDI transport to IP, the XT-VIA server can be ordered in an IP version. Depending upon the configuration, you may come across two different server backpanels. Both will be described in this newsletter, as well as information on cabling SDI machines.
The XT-VIA is able to handle 6 channels of 4K/UHD, like the XT4K and XS4K servers. They all support 4K HDR. Currently supported codecs in 4K/UHD are: XAVC Class 300 & 480.
C-Next helps productions to coordinate transfers of media files between live event sites and studios.
PRODUCTION CONTENT MANAGEMENT
The latest version of IPDirector introduces a number of key features and improvements:
- Auto Log-Off – per user or per machine – after inactivity
- Autocomplete for more filters in Database Explorer
- Being able to search based on a NOT expression (excluding values)
- Manage the user rights related to server visibility for restore
- Create your own Xsquare Target from the IPDirector interface
- A different way of managing Nearlines and IPDrives – and the use of searching for new files
- Social media publish Add-on (enabled by VIA-Flow)
IPWeb 2.4This version of IPWeb introduces some new functionalities in terms of display of the clip elements in the interface, for backup/restore workflows or for rough cut creation.
GLUE & WORKFLOW ORCHESTRATION
XTAccess now runs as a 64bit Windows application instead of a 32bit application as it did previously.
Useful added features include additional aspect ratios for social media publishing and some new MPEG dash profiles to help minimize the delay between the live event and the first image which can be displayed in the player.
