EVS Supported by Marquis Medway Workflow

By supporting the EVS XT[2] file export format, Medway allows broadcasters to repurpose files more easily between Avid storage or Media Composer editors and systems based on the popular EVS XT[2] architecture than was previously possible.
To send media in MXF format from an EVS server, users simply select all or part of the MXF file and write directly to Avid storage in either the Avid DNxHD codec or IMX-D10. In the other direction, Medway automatically generates MXF media, which is then seamlessly restored by EVS XFile software to the XT[2] server.

According to Marquis, Medway tightly integrates media files and metadata to allow secure transfer at full network speed, avoiding bottlenecks caused by file structure disparities between different systems.

"The integration of EVS servers with Medway not only brings workflow improvements, but also more flexibility to critical broadcast processes," says Serge Comes, Product Manager at EVS Broadcast Equipment. "Being able to guarantee seamless operation of Medway with our servers means we can offer broadcasters a reliable, highly practical and cost-effective solution for the efficient production and repurposing of content."

Says Granby Patrick, Partner Director of Technology at Marquis Broadcast: "EVS customers can now use Medway to simplify and centralise the management of bi-directional media transfers between Avid systems and the XT[2] platforms, thus improving workflow. This follows our commitment to making Medway's powerful media interchange capabilities available to more broadcasters."
