Xedio News Production Suite Teams Up With ANNOVA's OpenMedia Newsroom System

Xedio is a suite of modular applications for the acquisition, production, media management and  playout of news, offering full virtual editing and media referring processes. Xedio’s open architecture is optimized for integrated newsroom workflows and media exchange with third-party systems.

OpenMedia is a Windows-based advanced news management system from ANNOVA. It is designed to handle end-to-end multimedia news programming and can be easily integrated into existing broadcast production systems.

Both the Xedio and OpenMedia systems are using  the MOS protocol standard and can communicate seamlessly throughout the entire production process, from story conception to broadcast playout. Based on the Xedio ActiveX, the integrated solution allows OpenMedia operators to access all Xedio clips and media referenced in its database, to edit them, and to link them together in their running order for playout.

“Xedio is designed to be integrated into any type of newsroom infrastructure and guarantees unparalleled communication and media exchange with the most advanced newsroom computer systems. The new integration with OpenMedia, using our MOS protocol interface and an ActiveX editing component, significantly bolsters our capacity to meet even the most demanding requirements from news producers,” says Robert Bury, General Manager of the Xedio Business Unit at EVS.

“For ANNOVA Systems, it is imperative to build strong relationships with the most relevant technology providers in the broadcast industry. The integration with EVS’ XEDIO suite gives us the opportunity to provide our customers with greater solutions and a more efficient and cost-effective way to create news,” says Michael Schueller, CEO, ANNOVA Systems.

The new integrated solution will be presented at IBC2010, at the EVS booth (Hall 8 B.90) for public and private demos.
