Leadership team

Serge Van Herck is the CEO of EVS, a position he has held since late 2019. He leads the company’s long-term PlayForward strategy, which has brought EVS back onto a strong and profitable growth path while reinforcing its global leadership in live production technology. Before joining EVS, Serge held senior leadership roles in the telecom and media technology sectors, including serving as CEO of Newtec, a Belgian satellite communications company recognized for its advanced technology used by broadcasters, telecom operators, and government agencies worldwide. With more than 25 years of executive experience, Serge brings deep expertise in strategy, innovation, and global go-to-market leadership. He holds engineering and business degrees and is an active contributor to industry discussions on the future of live media.

Alex Redfern is responsible for EVS's R&D department, overseeing the delivery of innovative solutions. He holds a BSc in Media Technology from Southampton Solent University and has been with EVS for over 15 years. Alex brings a wealth of practical experience from customer support at big events to designing large-scale systems for live productions and leading a global team of solution architects. He has also played a key role in building strategic relationships in the NALA region. Alex’s current focus is on aligning technology investments with EVS’s business goals.

Nicolas Bourdon is the Chief Commercial Officer at EVS, leading global sales, business operations, marketing, and strategic development. With over two decades of experience, including six years at Sabena Technics, Nicolas has deep expertise in integrated marketing, strategic partnerships, and product management. A graduate in Business Administration from HEC Management School at the University of Liège, he has been instrumental in positioning EVS as a leader in the broadcast media industry. Nicolas also serves as President of the Agoria Sports & Entertainment Technology Club, co-founded SportsTech Belgium, and is an IABM board member.

Pierre began his career at Xerox as a Level 3 Support Engineer, where he honed his technical and problem-solving skills. In 2008, he joined EVS and quickly rose to VP of Quality Assurance, where he led the company’s Agile transformation, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and innovation. In 2021, Pierre was appointed Chief People Officer after a successful interim as Head of Human Resources. He now leads EVS's HR initiatives and drives the company's ESG strategy, embedding sustainability into its operations. Under his leadership, the HR and ESG functions have become crucial in achieving EVS’s strategic goals and long-term success.

Veerle De Wit has been CFO of EVS since 2021. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Lessius Hogeschool Antwerpen. Prior to joining EVS, Veerle was CFO at NTT Belgium and held various finance and management roles at IBM, where she served as CFO from 2012 to 2016. She brings extensive experience in managing large-scale technology service businesses.

Xavier Orri joined EVS in 2020 and leads the Customer Experience Team, overseeing global solution deployments and customer satisfaction. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UCLouvain and a degree in Computer Science from UPC in Barcelona. He has over 22 years of experience in global customer solutions and operations. Prior to joining EVS, Xavier held leadership positions at Newtec and ST Engineering iDirect, and founded Octalis. He currently focuses on professionalizing EVS implementation and support services.

Oscar Teran is a member of EVS's extended Leadership Team and oversees the company's global portfolio, go-to-market strategy, and strategic alliances. He holds an Executive MBA from ESADE and advanced degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and AI. Oscar joined EVS after serving as CTO at Eurovision Services and the European Broadcasting Union. His previous roles include leading EVS’s expansion into cloud-based SaaS solutions. Oscar is a specialist in business transformation, focusing on technology-driven companies and private equity firms.
