Serge Van Herck - CEO
Serge Van Herck (representing InnoVision BV) holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of Ghent and a MBA degree from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Belgium. With more than 25 years of experience in the broadcast and satellite telecommunications industry, Serge worked for seven years as Head of Satellite Services at Belgacom and was a member of the Eutelsat Board of Signatories until 2001.
Before joining Newtec in 2003 he served for two years as Senior Manager in the Communications and High Tech practice of Accenture in Brussels. In 2003, he became Newtec’s Director Business Development for Asia and General Manager of Skyware, a former subsidiary of Newtec in Germany. He was appointed CEO and Chairman of the Board of Newtec on March 1st 2006 and left the company in 2017. He transformed and successfully grew the company from a regional niche player selling broadcast modulators to a widely recognized industry leader setting standards and selling complex satellite network solutions across the globe.
In 2008, he joined the WTA (World Teleport Association) and ESOA (European Satellite Operator Association) as a board member. He also served as a board member at VOKA (Flanders' Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Agoria (Belgium's largest employers' organization and trade association).
Pierre De Muelenaere - CEO ad interim
Following the departure of the Managing Director & CEO Muriel De Lathouwer (representing MucH sprl) on July 10, 2018, Pierre De Muelenaere (representing Pygargue sprl) has been appointed CEO ad interim of EVS until December 31, 2019.
Pierre De Muelenaere is Independent Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVS since January 2018.
Until 31 August 2015, Pierre De Muelenaere was President and CEO of I.R.I.S. (Image Recognition Integrated Systems), a company he co-founded in 1987 (with Jean-Didier Legat) to commercialize the results of his PhD.
Mr. De Muelenaere has more than 30 years of experience in Imaging and Artificial Intelligence. He has accumulated solid experience in technology company management, R&D management and setting up international partnerships with US and Asian companies. He is also a member of the Board of directors of Proximus, Pairi Daiza and Guberna and served for seven years as a director on the Board of BSB, an insurance and banking software company. Mr. De Muelenaere holds a Civil Engineering degree in Microelectronics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and received his PhD in Applied Sciences in 1987.
Vincent Werbrouck - CCO
Vincent Werbrouck (representing W7 SPRL) has been appointed CCO. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Sapristic (IT and services in Belgium). Between 2000 and 2014, he held various positions at Magotteaux Group (expert in grinding processes and wear mechanisms), including Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, and Chief Innovation Officer. He served as Independent Director of BSB (an insurance and banking software company) between 2007 and 2014. He holds a Civil Engineering degree in Mechanics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and an Executive Master in Management from Solvay Business School (Brussels)
Yvan Absil - SVP, Chief Financial Officer
Yvan is appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer since January 2016. He started his career at Hewlett-Packard Company in 1995 and occupied various operational and finance functions in the group, including Finance Director for HP Belux. In 2010, he joined 21Net, a UK start-up company providing on-board train internet connectivity, as a CFO. Before joining EVS, he was Finance Director EMEAI, LATAM & Asia Pacific for Volcano Corporation, now part of Philips Healthcare, a leading company active in intravascular imaging for coronary and peripheral applications, and physiology. He holds a Master of Science in Business Management and Engineering (University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium).
Axel Blanckaert - SVP, CTO
Axel Blanckaert is Senior Vice President and CTO of EVS. He is in charge of all the EVS product development (R&D), spread over 5 development centers. He oversees the Hardware & Software development teams, the quality control, and the innovation and product management teams.
He joined EVS in April 2016. Before this, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Elips, an European company delivering software and consulting services to life and pension insurance companies. Before Elips, he spent 15 years at Alcatel in different positions, including software developer and architect in Australia, and most recently Site Manager, Platform and Product Director at Alcatel-Lucent in Namur (200+ people). He is civil engineer (Communication – Electronic – Automation) from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve.
Denis Fisette - SVP Operations & Projects
Denis Fisette is Senior Vice President Operations & Projects since January 2018. He joins from Aricent, a worldwide leader in Integration and Services, where he was worldwide leader for “network application” products and associated businesses. Denis started his career as data processor and manager of electronic messaging systems. At Alcatel between 1998 and 2010, he held R&D responsibilities in the intelligent networks area and became accountable for an organization of over 500 engineers spread over 12 development centers, addressing more than 100 telecom operators across the globe. He holds a Master in Mathematics and a Master in Computer Science from the University of Namur (Belgium).
Benoît Quirynen - SVP, Market & Product
Benoît Quirynen joined EVS in August 2016, as Senior Vice President Market & Product.
Benoit served as free-lance consultant (telecom, digital services, media & e-commerce) for the last 6 years. In parallel, he co-founded dINK.eu, a small company developping apps to support sales people. Before this, he spent 19 years at Alcatel in different positions, including SW developer & architect, Project & product manager, Product launch manager, Product line director, New media & advertising Strategy Manager and Targeted Advertising Venture Director.
Benoit is civil engineer (Telecom Engineer) from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve (Belgium).

Nicolas Bayers - Head of Legal
Nicolas Bayers is Head of Legal of EVS. He joined EVS in 2012 after several years of corporate and commercial law practice at the Brussels’ bar. Nicolas holds a law degree from the University of Liège and a master degree in European law from the University of Ghent.
Nicolas Bourdon - SVP, MARKETING
Nicolas Bourdon earned a Business Sciences degree from HEC Liege, Belgium. Nicolas spent six years as a Communications and Marketing Manager for the aviation company Sabena Technics in Brussels. He joined EVS as Director of Marketing and Communications in October 2005.
Marc Caeymaex - SVP EMEA
Marc is SVP EMEA since February 2016. He joined EVS in 2000 as Sales manager for Spain & Portugal. In 2003 he also took the responsibility of the African market, and in 2007 he moved to Madrid to Open the EVS Iberica branch where he was acting as General Manager. In 2012 he became VP Sales, Southern Europe and Africa. Marc holds a Business Management Degree from ULG (University of Liege) and a Master of International Management from University of Santander (Spain).
Xavier De Vynck - SVP, BIG EVENTS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Xavier De Vynck is SVP Big Events & Business development. He joined EVS in 2011 as VP Business development. Before joining EVS, he spent more than 20 years in the broadcast industry, starting his career in 1991 as Managing Director of Eurosound NV. In 1996, he became Regional Sales Manager, EMEA, for AAVS SA (a French systems integrator). He joined NETIA in 1998 where he held various functions until 2007 (lastly Vice-President of Business Development). He spent a year at Genesis Networks as VP of EMEA, before joining Avid in 2008 as Strategic Business Development Manager until 2011. Xavier De Vynck studied Financial Management in Belgium.
Olivier Gossiaux - Head of IT
After graduating in computer sciences and with 23 years of experience in IT, Olivier has held several management roles including, IT Manager at Carrefour, Service Manager at GDF-Suez and Group IT Director for Avery Dennison. He joined EVS as Head of IT in June 2017.
Quentin Grutman - SVP NALA
Quentin is SVP NALA, in charge of all operations in the NALA region, since 2016. He joined EVS in 2010 as SVP EMEA. Quentin has an extensive experience in sales within large software companies, especially at Oracle where he held various international sales management positions over eight years within the company. Prior to joining EVS, Quentin was the European Sales Director at Heartbeat Experts/Software since 2007. Quentin holds a degree in General and International Management from HEC-ULg in Liège and a Masters degree in General Management (CEPAC) from Solvay Business School in Brussels.
Olivier Heurteaux - SVP, APAC
Olivier graduated with a Masters degree in engineering in 2000, from the SUPAERO, a top French engineering school in Toulouse. He started at EVS in 2002 as presales in Hong-Kong, for the Asia-Pacific region. Always based in Hong-Kong, he became Sales and Operations Manager for the APAC region in 2006. He takes over the full responsibility of the APAC region in February 2013.
Pierre Matelart - Head of Human Resources
Pierre Matelart currently works as Head of Human Resources. He joined EVS in 2008 and has more than a decade of experience in management. He is Electronic Engineer and holder of a post-graduate in business management.
Laurent Petit - SVP Product
Laurent Petit joined EVS in 2010 as Product Manager the XT3. Since 2014, he is in charge of Product Management for the portfolio of EVS addressing Live production. Laurent started his career in 1996 as a research engineer in the Microelectronics Laboratory of the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL). In 2001, he moved to Barco where he held various functions from development engineer to product manager, specializing in the field of video compression. Laurent is civil engineer (orientation electronics and telecom) from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve.
Kristel Skilbecq - Executive Assistant
Kristel Skilbecq joined EVS in October 2012 as Executive Assistant. Before joining EVS, she spent 10 years in the hotel industry in Brussels. Kristel earned a hotel management degree from ISGH, Namur.
Pierre Soleil - Corporate Communication and Investor Relations Manager
Pierre Soleil works as Corporate Communication and Investor Relations Manager. He joined EVS in 2019 after several years as Communication Manager for a company specialized in geology, G-tec. Pierre spent one year in Australia and he studied Communication and Brand Management at ICHEC Brussels.
