Position Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to lead our company's growth initiatives across key market segments and industries in the APAC region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive business development strategies, identifying new market opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving overall company growth through the extension of our channel partner network.

Role and Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager APAC will:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive company growth across key market segments and industries and our channel partner network.
  • Open new markets for salespeople, where the Business Development Manager builds the first reference customer relationships and closes the first deals together with the salespeople on the ground.
  • Facilitate penetration of new market segments through the development of a solid network.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with new channel partners, and new customers in the region, serving as the primary point of contact to leverage growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, product, finance, and R&D to ensure alignment and coordination of business development efforts.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to senior regional management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to raise brand awareness, generate leads, and build relationships with key influencers.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, alliances, mergers, and acquisitions, to support the company's growth objectives.

Profile & Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering. A combination of education and relevant experience equivalent to the stated qualifications may be considered.
  • Proven track record of success in business development roles with preference in the media technology industry, with extensive experience in new market development, growth strategy management, and strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong motivation to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset. You are successful in fast-paced and rapidly changing environments.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet clients and new channel partners and support business development efforts.
  • You have excellent time management and work organisation skills, and the proven ability work autonomously.
  • You are fully proficient in English. Professional competence in French or a major Asian language would be advantageous.

Organization

This position reports to the Vice President of Sales APAC, with a dotted line towards the Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development.
